Grand Theft Auto VI now has a confirmed release date, supported console platforms and two editions. This guide separates what Rockstar has announced from the questions that still do not have an official answer.
What is the GTA VI release date?
Rockstar Games has scheduled Grand Theft Auto VI for release on Thursday 19 November 2026. The company says the additional development time is being used to deliver the expected level of polish.
Which platforms are confirmed?
The confirmed launch platforms are:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
Rockstar has not announced a PC edition. That does not confirm that a PC release will never happen, but there is currently no official date or version to include in a launch plan.
Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition
The complete base game
Includes Grand Theft Auto VI. Owners can purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately after redeeming their game.
The game plus additional content
Includes the base game and a collection of vehicles, weapons, styles, businesses and other items introduced across Jason and Lucia’s story.
Rockstar says the Ultimate Edition Upgrade can be bought separately at any time by Standard Edition owners. This means choosing Standard at launch does not permanently close the upgrade route.
Digital and physical versions
Both digital and physical versions have been announced, but the physical box does not contain a game disc. It contains a digital download code. Rockstar expects physical copies to be available for shipping or collection from 12 November so the code can be redeemed in time for pre loading.
The physical version is a code in a box. A disc is not included.
Pre loading and bonuses
Pre loading is scheduled to begin at local midnight on 12 November 2026. Rockstar has also announced the Vintage Vice City Pack for eligible pre orders, containing a vehicle and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Eligible digital orders also include one month of GTA+.
What is still unconfirmed?
- A PC edition or PC release date
- The exact unlock time in every region
- Full details about online access at launch
- Whether more editions or bundles will be introduced later
We will update this guide when Rockstar changes or expands the official information. Dates and platform details should always be checked before spending money on a pre order.
